Kim Il-hwan, former director of the National Hangeul Museum, has been appointed as the new secretary-general of the Korea Anti-Doping Committee (Chairman Lee Young-hee, hereinafter KADA).

Kim Il-hwan, the 7th Secretary-General, who was appointed to replace Secretary-General Kim Geum-pyeong, began his three-year term with an inauguration ceremony at the 18th anniversary of the foundation of the Korea Anti-Doping Committee on the 21st.

After graduating from Yonsei University and earning a master's and doctoral degree from Russia's National Moscow University, the new Secretary-General Kim is a "Russian expert". He gained extensive experience by serving as the head of the Korean Embassy in Russia, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism's Overseas Culture Promotion Planning Officer, and the head of the National Library's Planning and Training Department, and declared the "Korean Globalization Leap Year" during his tenure as the head of the National Hangeul Museum, which is considered to have greatly contributed to enhancing the value of the museum through domestic and international cooperation and innovative exhibition planning.



Based on the global spread of Hangeul culture and active administration and leadership shown in experiential program planning, Secretary-General Kim is expected to lead the strengthening of the international status of anti-doping activities as KADA Secretary-General. Above all, he is considered the right person to realize KADA's advancement of doping prevention by holding the 2025 World Anti-Doping Agency General Assembly next year, customized doping prevention education tailored to the sports life cycle, strategic doping test operation based on big data utilization, and strengthening communication with the public.

New Secretary-General Kim said, `Using his experience, we will upgrade the anti-doping system to a global level so that fair sports spirit can become the basic value of all sportspeople and strengthen communicative policies that can be agreed upon by all" expressed his determination to take office.
