'Korean Sports Hero X Judo Legend'Ha Hyung-joo Appoints Chairman of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation

Minister Yoo In-chon of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) appointed Ha Hyung-joo as the chairman of the Seoul Olympic Memorial National Sports Promotion Foundation on the 18th. The term of office of the new chairman is three years (2024.11.18~2017.11.17).
In accordance with Article 26 of the Act on the Operation of Public Institutions, the appointment of the new chairman was made by the president at the recommendation of the Minister of Culture, Sports, Management, and Legal Recommendation Committee.
Ha Hyung-joo, the new chairman of the board, is a Korean judo legend who became the first Korean judoka to win an Olympic gold medal in men's judo (under 95kg) at the 1984 LA Olympics. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said, `After my career, I have been a professor of physical education at Dong-A University and a standing auditor of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, and I am considered the right person to lead the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation with field experience, expertise, administrative, organizational, and management skills.'
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In-chon said, "The National Sports Promotion Foundation is an important institution to foster national sports promotion projects and sports industries through the creation and management of the National Sports Promotion Fund. We hope that the new chairman will strive to achieve the growth of sports welfare and sports industries based on his many experiences and expertise in the field of sports."
