Kim Ji-soo, who made his official debut in Brentford's first team through an EFL Cup match against Leyton Orient in September, was excluded from the list of participants in the 10th round of the English Premier League (EPL) away game against Fulham in the 2024-2025 season at Craven Cottage in London on the 5th (Korea time). Brentford came from behind to lose 1-2 in second-half stoppage time alone, conceding back-to-back goals to Harry Wilson.
Kim Ji-soo's exclusion from the entry was scheduled. Kim Ji-soo was a member of the Brentford U-21 team at Whitshiff Park in Brentford on the 4th, the day before the match against Fulham, and started the game against Millwall U-21 and played full time to lead the team to a 3-1 victory.
It seems that it has been fixed as a member of the U-21 team rather than the first team for the past month. Kim Ji-soo was expected to play in the round of 16 of the EFL Cup against Sheffield Wednesday at home on the 30th of last month, but did not receive coach Thomas Frank Brentford's 'Call'.
Instead, he played in a game against the QPR U-21 team on the 29th.
The last time Kim Ji-soo was included in the first-team squad was against Wolverhampton on the 5th of last month. Kim Ji-soo, who moved from Seongnam to Brentford last summer and went straight to the EPL, has been on the bench in 11 games, including eight EPL games in the 2023-2024 season and three games so far this season. After last season, he was promoted to a professional team and raised expectations, but he has yet to take the opportunity.

Brentford are in 12th place with only four wins (one draw and five losses) and 13 points from 10 games. Coach Frank seems to be actively using veterans to enter the single-digit rankings.
One encouraging thing is that coach Frank gave a high evaluation of Kim Ji-soo's potential in the last pre-season and that he was still young in 2004. It's time for hands-on experience, but the club has no plans to send a lease. Kim Ji-soo said in an interview with sports Chosun soccer YouTube ball-candidate reporters in June that just watching star players such as Manchester City and Manchester United play on the pitch is very helpful.
For Kim Ji-soo, fortunately, Brentford defeated Sheffield Wednesday after a penalty shootout to reach the quarterfinals of the EFL Cup. He will go on an away trip to Newcastle on December 17. If you show a steady performance in the U-21 team, you can come back to the first team as much as you want.
