The EPL secretariat unveiled the best head coach so far selected by player-turned-experts on the 20th (Korea time). Arne Slot had five picks out of eight. Michael Owen, Tim Sherwood, Leon Osman, Karen Carney and Don Hutchison chose Slow.
Sean Wright-Phillips, Matt Holland and Shay Given picked Nunu Espiritu Santo, who is making a splash. There was no name for Tottenham manager Enze Postecoglou, as well as Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
Liverpool is currently leading the EPL with 28 points (9 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss). The gap between the second-place Manchester City (23 points, 7 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses) widened to 5 points. Arsenal have 19 points alongside Chelsea, Nottingham and Brighton. Tottenham are in 10th place with 16 points.
The Dutch slot manager has written a new history of English football in the first season. He took the helm of Liverpool in July, replacing Jurgen Klopp.
Slot became the first Premier League head coach to record 14 wins in the first 16 games. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho (Fenerbahce) and Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid) won 13 games.
Liverpool is currently the best in Europe as well. He is ranked first in the European Champions League (UCL) league phase with four wins. Nunu Santo's Nottingham was classified as a relegation zone even before the opening of this season. However, so far, it has overturned all expectations and is at the top of the list.
Coach Nunu Santo is also being reevaluated. However, it is a question mark how long the upward trend will continue.
Liverpool has virtually monopolized even the best player so far. Mohamed Salah, who has the most offensive points in the EPL with eight goals and six assists, was supported by four players, half of them. Holland, Sherwood, Carney and Sean Wright-Phillips supported Salah. Hutchinson chose Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk and Owen chose Liverpool midfielder Ryan Hravernberg. Osman and Given voted for Nottingham's Chris Wood and Chelsea's Cole Palmer, respectively.
On the other hand, Manchester City has lost four consecutive EPL matches recently, including two consecutive EPL losses. It has been 18 years since 2006. It is the first humiliation in Guardiola's leadership career.
This year's last A-match break is over. EPL will resume on the 23rd. Tottenham will meet Manchester City on the 24th, with Manchester United manager Rubin Amorim making his debut in Ipswich Tadou, which reported his first win against Tottenham on the 25th.
