Kyoto International High School, a Korean-Japanese ethnic school that gained attention by winning the Gosiene competition.

The lingering effects of the first victory were so intense that the Korean school song that resonated at Koshien Stadium in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, sparked controversy in Japan.

Kyoto International High School, which conquered Koshien, where 3,715 schools in Japan competed with an indomitable spirit, received the "Choi Dong-won Indomitable Hero Award".




The Choi Dong-won Memorial Association (Chairman Cho Woo-hyun), which organizes the 'BNK Busan Bank Choi Dong-won Award', visited Kyoto International High School in Japan to deliver a plaque, baseball supplies, and congratulatory messages.

On the 22nd, Kang Jin-soo, Secretary-General of the Commemoration Association, visited and delivered 200 memorial tablets for Choi Dong-won and banners with a cheering phrase of 'Kyoto International High School Cheer up'.

Principal Baek Seung-hwan, who received plaques, commemorative balls and cheering banners, posted plaques and banners in the hallway on the first floor where students attend the most. It is said that Japanese students were also deeply moved by the heartfelt banner supporting Kyoto International High School.




On the banner, more than 100 people, including Choi Dong-won's mother, Kim Jeong-sa, Busan Superintendent of Education Ha Yoon-soo, Prosecutor Lim Eun-jung, former Lotte player Kim Yong-chul, Gyeongnam High School, Deoksu High School, Choi Dong-won Youth Baseball Team, and Haeundae Little Baseball Team, are writing the words of support: 「Kyoto International High School Cheer up」.

Kyoto International High School will also write autographs with students' hearts on banners and deliver them to the Choi Dong-won Memorial Project in return.

Kang Jin-soo, secretary-general of the Choi Dong-won Memorial Foundation, said, `It is very rewarding that the Memorial Foundation, which was established to promote the spirit of indomitable fighting, dedication, sacrifice, and challenge of Korean baseball hero Choi Dong-won, served as a private cultural mission between Korea and Japan.'

On November 11, the Choi Dong-won Commemoration Association held an award ceremony for the 「11th BNK Busan Bank Choi Dong-won Award」 at the Ocean Hall on the 2nd floor of the BNK Busan Bank headquarters.




The winner of the 'BNK Busan Bank Choi Dong-won Award' in 2024 was Kyle Hart of the NC Dinos, and the winner of the '7th Presidential High School Choi Dong-won Award' was Chung Hyeon-woo, a third grader at Deoksu High School.

Kyoto International High School was selected as the main character of the 「5th Baeksong Holdings Choi Dong-won Indomitable Hero Award」, which awards the organization that best embodied Choi Dong-won's fighting spirit during his lifetime.

The commemorative organization unanimously selected Kyoto International High School as the winner of the Indomitable Hero Award for achieving a greater miracle than a miracle at the board meeting of the commemorative organization, saying, `Without the full support and dedication of not only student athletes and leaders but also ordinary students, faculty and parents, and the Korean community in Japan, the championship could not have been achieved.'"I explained the reason.
