SSG officially announced on the 17th that it has renewed its contract with Drew Anderson (30) for a total of $1.2 million (1.15 million per year, 50,000 options).
Anderson proved his league-leading pitching by SSG as an alternative foreign player early in the 2024 season, recording double-digit wins with 11 wins, 3 losses and a 3.89 strikeout record of 158 in 24 games, especially with an overwhelming 12.3 strikeouts per 9 innings, including setting a new KBO League record of 100 strikeouts in minimum innings.
SSG confirmed Anderson's pitching in the first round of the league with his strikeout ability, an important factor of foreign pitchers, this season, and decided that Anderson, who has finished adapting to the KBO League, will show his ability to play longer innings next season through the starting build-up process from the spring camp.
After signing the contract, Anderson said, "I'm excited to be back together and thank the SSG club for making a good offer. I think I'm already looking forward to next season. I will do my best to make the team perform well," he said.
Meanwhile, SSG also finished recruiting foreign pitchers Mitch White on the previous day (16th), completing the composition of foreign pitchers.
