The Korea Professional Football Federation announced on the 20th that Ko Seung-beom was selected for the October 'Player of the Month ' sponsored by the K-League's official video game partner Electronic Arts (EA). Ko Seung-beom won the honor by beating fellow Ulsan Cho Hyun-woo, Edgar (Daegu) and Lee Ki-hyuk (Gangwon) and ranking first in the professional league TSG Technical Committee vote.
'Player of the Month' selects a candidate group through voting (60%) by the Federation TSG Technical Committee among MOM (Gyeonggi Training Player), Best Eleven, and MVP of the month-long K League 1 match. After that, K-League fan voting (25%) and EA SPORTS™ FC Online (15%) user voting (15%) will be conducted for candidates selected by the TSG Technical Committee, and the player with the highest converted score by adding three items will receive the 'Player of the Month'.
Ko Seung-beom scored one goal in the 33rd round against Gimcheon to lead Ulsan to a 2-1 victory, and also scored the winning goal in the 35th round against Pohang, contributing to a 2-0 victory. As a result, Ko Seung-beom enjoyed the honor of being selected as MOM and Round Best 11, respectively, in rounds 31 and 33. Ko Seung-beom, who is in his ninth year as a professional this season, added specialness by being nominated for the first time as a candidate for the 'Player of the Month' award.
Ko Seung-beom and Edgar had a close game. The final total score of the two players' votes was 34.53% by Ko Seung-beom and 34.17%, which was only 0.39% by Ed. This is the minimum total score difference of the final vote for the Player of the Month award.
Go Seung-beom, who is having his best season, will receive the prize along with the 'Player of the Month' trophy.
