On the 12th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) held a '2024 Sports Development Merit Award and the 62nd Korea Sports Award Transfer Ceremony' at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul.

In addition, Kim Kyu-nam, the father of Kim Woo-min (Gangwon Provincial Office), the 400m freestyle bronze medalist at the Paris Olympics, and Bang Yoon-jung, the mother of Jeon Woong-tae, the national team of modern pentathlon, received commendations from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, including the "Parent's Award" and Choi Won-young, secretary-general of the Danyang Sports Council.
A total of 36 people, including 30 sports medals and 6 sports packages, were named as recipients in the sports development merit category. In the athletes and leadership category, six athletes, including Kim Joon-ho (Hwaseong City Hall), Kim Hyun-woo (Samsung Life Insurance), shooting Kim Seo-joon (Busan City Hall), archery coach Ryu Soo-jung (Gyemyeong University), Jang Hye-jin, deputy director of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation, and Boccia Yoon Chu-ja (Seongnam City Sports Council), were awarded the highest-grade sports medal. Six people, including Jeon Min-jae (Jeonbuk Sports Association for the Disabled) and Lee Ho-rim (former national shooting team), received the Maeng Ho-jang, while five people, including the leader of the Gyeongbuk Disabled Cycling Federation in Jinyoung Kim and Hwang Woo-jin (modern pentathlon), Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall, received the grand prize. In addition, nine people, including Choi Kyu-woong, a former national team member, received a white horse race, two people, including Shim Jin-yong, a bowling association for the disabled in Daejeon, and three people, including Oh Doo-yoon, a leader of the Korea Bodhi Building Association, received sports awards.
A total of five people were awarded in the national sports development merit category, and Cho Jung-won, president of the World Taekwondo Federation, received a major award. The Order of Sports Merit was awarded to Seo Jeong-hee, vice chairman of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sports Association, and the sports prize was awarded to Kim Dong-sik, director of the Sports Promotion Department of the Chungcheongbuk-do Sports Association for the Disabled. Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Yoo In-chon, who encouraged each and every athlete of the Republic of Korea on this day, said "Thank you to the sportsmen who gave us the impression and hope of our people."The Ministry of Culture will provide policy support to create a system and environment for athletes and leaders to focus solely on sports."I promised.
