KT Wiz infielder Shin Bon-ki announced his retirement after 13 years as a professional.

KT's club announced on the 12th that Shin Bon-ki (35), who represents the KBO League, will retire.

Shin Bon-ki, who finished his 13-year career, joined the Lotte Giants in the second round in 2012. After joining KT through a trade in the 2021 season, he played like an altoran as an all-weather infield utility resource for four seasons.

He played in 1,000 professional games and recorded a batting average of 247, 31 home runs, 541 hits, 260 RBIs and 294 runs, and contributed to KT's first integrated victory by recording his first hit with a home run in Game 4 of the 2021 Korean Series.

He became a model for his juniors with his excellent work ethic and self-management on the ground, and he also won the 2017 KBO Golden Glove for his leading role in the league by steadily conducting various volunteer and donation activities outside the ground.

Shin Bon-ki was able to become a part of the 2021 season's integrated championship thanks to KT's front desk, coach, and coaching staff who recognized my value"When I left Busan, where I had been playing baseball since my childhood, and came to Suwon, I was able to adapt well with the enthusiastic support of the fans and the help of my colleagues. I would like to thank the many coaches and coaches who have taught me, as well as my family who have always been by my side and support me", he expressed his feelings.

Shin Bon-ki's retirement ceremony will be held during next season.
