The Premier 12 national team, led by head coach Ryu Joong-il, will play a practice game against the Cuban national team at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 1st. A total of two matches will be played at 6:30 p.m. on the 1st and at 2 p.m. on the 2nd.
Amid injuries such as Koo Ja-wook, Won Tae-in (Samsung), Son Joo-young (LG), and Lee Kang-joon (Sangmu), all the players of Samsung and KIA who finished the Korean Series joined the team, and all the 'training entries' gathered. The idea is to select 28 of them and go to Taiwan where the Premier 12 will be held.
With worries continuing, including the starting pitcher and the fourth batter, the starting lineup for the first game was confirmed. Hong Chang-ki and Kim Hwi-jip will be in charge of the table setter, while Kim Do-young, Park Dong-won and Moon Bo-kyung will play the cleanup. It is followed by Yoon Dong-hee and Song Sung-moon and Na Seung-yeop and Lee Ju-hyung.
Kwak Bin will be the starting pitcher. Kwak Bin won the most games with Won Tae-in with 15 wins and 9 losses with a 4.24 ERA in 30 games this season. In the first game of the wild-card game, he was shaken by allowing four runs in one inning, but in the last Asian Professional Baseball Championship (ABPC) national team, he proved that he is an "international pitcher" by pitching hard with one run in five innings in the final against Japan.
Since it's my first practice game, I think I'm focusing on raising my sense of practice. He expressed his intention to use as many pitchers as possible.
Manager Ryu said, `Kwakbin is going to throw two innings and the rest of the pitchers will throw one or two innings.'
Coach Ryu said, `First of all, we play two games against Cuba, and the priority is what type of batter will come out when analyzing the opponent's power. Except for KIA and Samsung (who played in the Korean Series), they know that they have lost their sense of play. Through the two games, we plan to increase our sense of play so that we can play in the best condition in Taiwan."
