Cho Joon-gun (18, Team Marco) defeated Gubo Kenta by a unanimous decision of all judges at the break-through Combat 1 held in Tokyo, Japan, on October 30.
Cho Joon-gun, born in 2006, is a road FC flyweight prospect. He made his professional debut in 2002 and gained experience by playing for various overseas organizations such as HEAT in Japan and URCC in the Philippines. He is considered a flyweight prospect with his main specialty, compliance with ground technology, and potential.
Cho Joon-gun proved why he is attracting attention even among promising players against Kubo. Gubo is a veteran fighter who competed in road FC 053 back in 2019. He is a difficult opponent from the standpoint of Cho Joon-gun because he is experienced and seasoned.
Nevertheless, Cho Joon-gun won a unanimous decision over Kubo Kenta. This is the result of showing his skills without being intimidated by the veteran despite the away game. With this game, Cho Joon-gun has achieved 10 games and is making his career solid by completing six wins at the same time.
Cho Joon-gun "By playing this game, he became a professional 10 player at the young age of 18. I still have a lot to improve, but I'll show you how I improve in every game" gave his victory speech.
Meanwhile, Road FC, to which Cho Joon-gun belongs, will host Goobne ROAD FC 071 at Wonju Chiak Gymnasium on December 29. The highlight of the Wonju MMA Sports Festival Road FC Global Tournament Final will be held, and in the bantamweight division, Kim Soo-cheol (33, Road FC Wonju) and Yang Ji-yong (28, Jeju Team King) will face off in the final. In the lightweight division, Artur Soloviev (30, MFP) and Kamil Magomedov (32, KHK MMA Team) will compete for the title.
