The end-of-year concert is a performance created by 31 outstanding artists who were discovered and grown at the International Special Music & Art Festival (organizing committee chairman Na Kyung-won), which marks its 11th anniversary this year, with 10 festival mentors.
Honorary Chairman Na Kyung-won of Special Olympics Korea, Rep. Lee Dal-hee, Rep. Choi Bo-yoon, Chairman of Lotte Welfare Foundation Lee Seung-hoon, Chairman of Incheon Special Olympics Korea Park Min-seo, and many guests and families with developmental disabilities attended the event.
The concert was directed by famous pianist Kim Dae-jin, president of the Korea National University of Arts, and was joined by 10 prominent Korean artists, including violinist Ki Joo-hee, professor of Deokseong Women's University.
Honorary Chairman Na Kyung-won watched the performance with the audience and said, `When I saw our artists who showed their skills comparable to those of non-disabled people on the stage today, I remembered the sweat and tears of their efforts behind them. And so that our developmentally disabled artists can stand on more diverse and more stages, the National Assembly will improve laws and policies, and outside, we will support and go out with our artists."
In the first part, famous songs to the public, such as Monti's 'Cardash' and Shostakovich's 'Waltz', were presented in harmonica, clarinet, and cello.
The second part is four grand pianos, and eight mentors and developmentally disabled artists, including Kim Dae-jin, the concert's music director, gave the audience the same harmony as one person playing.
It is a song that encompasses the East and the West, such as 'Shin Arirang' and 'Nella Fantasia', and provides the audience with the beautiful voices of vocal performers. He then played 'Over the Rainbow' with 13 violin ensemble melodies, and in Vivaldi's Four Seasons 'Summer' and 'Winter' led the immersion with violin solo leading the stage.
Amid the audience's enthusiastic applause, the entire cast and 11 artists, including violas and trumpets, finished the moving finale by playing Pachbel's 'Canon D Major' (published by Park Jung-kyu) together like 'Special Harmony'.
On the other hand, Special Olympics Korea is a non-profit organization under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism that supports cultural and artistic activities of people with developmental disabilities, and strives to create an integrated society where the disabled and the non-disabled harmonize with each other.
