'Willing to run for the third term' Lee Ki-heung, chairman of the Korea Sports Council, submits a statement of intention to register candidates

An official from the sports community said that Chairman Lee submitted an expression of intention to register candidates to the TF team for the election preparation for the head of the Korea Sports Council through his agent.
In accordance with the regulations on the management of the election of the chairman of the Korean Sports Council, non-executive executives of the Sports Council must submit an "expression of intention to register candidates" by 90 days (November 29) before the expiration date of their term of office. With three days left before the deadline, Chairman Lee expressed his intention to register as a candidate for the 42nd chairman of the Korea Sports Council.
Chairman Lee, who received approval for the third term from the Korea Sports Council's Sports Fair Committee on the 12th, met the conditions for the third term challenge. The election for the president of the Korea Sports Council will be held on January 14 next year with 2,300 electors voting. Currently, Yoo Seung Min, former president of the Korea Table Tennis Association, Kang Shin-wook, emeritus professor at Dankook University, Kang Tae-sun, chairman of the Seoul Sports Council, Kim Yong-joo, former secretary-general of the Gangwon Provincial Sports Council, Park Chang-beom, former president of the Korea Wushu Association, and Ahn Sang-soo, former mayor of Incheon, have expressed their intention to challenge. The registration period for presidential candidates is Dec. 24-25, and Chairman Lee Ki-heung is expected to hold an official press conference on his candidacy at the most appropriate time in December.
