Madasom beat Kim Soo-ji (28) after the second overtime in the final round of the KLPGA Tour S-OIL Championship 2024 (total prize money of 900 million won and prize money of 162 million won) at Elysian Jeju Lake and Pine Course (par 72, 6752 yards) on the 3rd. His second championship title in more than a month since his first win of the season at the Hana Financial Group Championship in September.
It is a thrilling come-from-behind victory with the concentration of not giving up.
Madasom, who started 5 under par and tied for 6th place in the first round, jumped to 3rd place by reducing the number of pars despite variables in the second round schedule being postponed by a day due to rain. Ahead of the final round, it was two strokes ahead of leader Lim Hee-jung (24) and one stroke behind runner-up Kim Soo-ji.
While Lim Hee-jung, who had been doing well until the second round, fell shaking, Madasom and Kim Soo-ji steadily reduced the number of pars. Madasom led the way with consecutive birdies in the first hole (par 5) and the second hole (par 4), while Kim Soo-ji, who saved two pars in the first half, also birdied in the fifth hole (par 4).

The playoff started at Hole 18 (par 5). Madasom and Kim Su-ji both made par putts. In the second overtime, which took place amid the change in the position of the hole cup, Kim Soo-ji scored par again, but cheered when Madasom made a birdie putt that he tried at the 2.5m point of the hole cup.
Madasom won the championship with 'No bogey Play' that did not record a single bogey until the third round of the tournament. This is the 11th time that a no-bogey winner has appeared in the KLPGA Tour.
Madasom said, `I didn't even think about winning, but after concentrating on every hole, good results followed.' "I didn't think it was easy, but the ball fell into the hole cup as the speed was moderately reduced," he said of the birdie putt on the 16th hole, which tied for the lead. Then "I want to give me 99 points this year. I want to fill one more point for the rest of the season."
