The San Francisco Giants have entered the All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker trade competition, U.S. media reported. Lee Jung-hoo's competition for the starting lineup is expected to become fiercer.

The New York Post reported on the 12th (Korea time) that the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants entered negotiations to recruit Tucker.

Tucker is a right-handed left-handed outfielder born in 1997. He made his debut with the Houston Astros in 2018 and continued playing for one team. At the end of the 2025 season, he will be eligible for FA. Houston, which cannot afford Tucker's ransom, put Tucker up for trade in the transfer market this winter. Tucker is expected to sign a large contract worth at least $300 million (about 430 billion won).

The New York Post reported that `Tucker is likely to receive a $300 million or $400 million salary next offseason. Houston has never shown the courage to keep such an expensive player,' he said, predicting a breakup.

The New York Post said 'Houston wants a corner infielder and a starter if Tucker is traded. Currently, the Chicago Cubs are the most likely destination. The Cubs have a lot of resources that Houston wants.

San Francisco previously showed aggressive moves by recruiting shortstop Willie Adames as an FA. If you bring Tucker, a stronger lineup will be completed. If Lee Jung-hoo, who returns from injury, overcomes the main competition and joins the lineup, the texture becomes tighter.

Sports Illustrated said 'Tucker will not be easy to recruit. Tucker is an MVP in his prime. We will expect a strong trade package' and diagnosed that we will have to risk a huge amount of prospect bleeding.

Sports Illustrated has Elliott Ramos and Lee Jung-hoo in San Francisco's outfield. If Star Slugger comes here, it's a definite upgrade. However, it remains to be seen how much more aggressive San Francisco will be.

Lee Jung-hoo was injured in May this year and ended the season early.

However, he is expected to join the spring camp coming up after rehabilitation in 100% condition.

San Francisco Giants manager Bob Melvin said Lee Jung-hoo will enter the spring camp in perfect condition.

According to NBC Sports in the U.S., coach Melvin will join the spring camp in good health. There are no restrictions on the training,' he said, dismissing concerns.

Lee Jung-hoo signed a six-year, $113 million (about 160 billion won) contract with San Francisco ahead of the 2024 season.

Lee Jung-hoo injured his shoulder in mid-May after playing just 37 games. Lee Jung-hoo had a batting average of 262 (38 hits in 145 at-bats), two homers, eight RBIs, and two steals (OPS) of 0.641.
