"He has experience and know-how in must-win support."

LG Twins recruited right-hander Shim Chang-min on the 18th" he announced. Shim Chang-min is a right-handed sidearm pitcher who recorded an ERA of 31-29 with 51 saves and 4.22 in 485 games, 491 innings in 11 KBO seasons.

Shim Chang-min, who joined the Samsung Lions in the first round of the 2011 rookie draft (fourth overall), started his career in earnest with a 1.83 ERA with two wins, two losses and one save.

Starting with 25 saves in 2016, he has been reborn as a must-win group with 16 holds and 17 saves in 2017 and 2018, respectively, establishing a solid position in the team. He also played for the national team, including playing in the Premier 12 in 2015 and the WBC in 2017, and made a name for himself as a sidearm pitcher representing the league.

I finished the 2021 season and moved to the NC Dinos in a trade. At that time, NC sent catcher Kim Tae-gun to Samsung and recruited Shim Chang-min and catcher Kim Eung-min.

Shim Chang-min had a disappointing time in NC. Due to injuries and sluggishness, he played only 16 games in 2022 and 2023.

This season, he finished the season with a 2-1 record and an 8.84 ERA in 21 games in the Futures League alone without a first-team call-up.

Shim Chang-min, who was released from NC, showed his willingness to extend his active career and took the LG tryout test.

LG, who judged that he was in good shape enough to play as a professional player, confirmed his contract with Shim Chang-min. "Shim Chang-min is a player with experience and know-how of must-win teams in the past, and we expect the test results to help the team with competitive ball power and improved control," the LG club said.

Shim Chang-min said "I'm so grateful that the LG Twins trusted me and gave me a chance. I fully know what the club expects from me. I want to prepare well for the rest of the time before the season and repay my expectations with my skills. Once again, I hope it will help the LG Twins win the championship, and I will work hard to reach the fans in a better way than before."
