2024 Esports Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the Esports Hall of Fame on the 19th

Hosted by the Korea e-Sports Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the '2024 E-Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony' will be held at the E-Sports Hall of Fame in Mapo-gu, Seoul at 5 p.m. on the 19th.

As a place to honor and commemorate the athletes who have played in domestic and international e-sports competitions during the year, a total of three categories were selected: 'Heroes', which lists players who meet the criteria for selection of inductees among active players, 'Stars', which selects players who have performed well at domestic and international competitions through voting, and 'Honors', which selects permanent inductees among retired players.

This year's induction ceremony will be attended by about 50 e-sports players and officials and will be broadcast live online at the same time as an offline event.

The selection of new 2024 inductees will be carried out after the inspection team first reviews the winning records of players who played at domestic and international competitions (as of December 1, 2023 to November 30, 2024). Based on this, the induction ceremony selection committee, which represents various fields such as the media, broadcasters, sports companies, and team secretariat, selects candidates for 'Heroes' and 'Stars'. The final inductee is determined through a vote of the selection committee and the voters, and 'Stars' is the final six people selected by fan voting.

By 2023, a total of 269 players have been registered in the 'Heroes', and this year, a total of 15 active e-sports players will be newly registered as Heroes in the 'League of Legends', 'Valorant', 'Battlegrounds', 'Battlegrounds Mobile', 'StarCraft 2' and 'Iron Kwon' events.

'2024 Stars' was selected through online fan voting, with a total of 27,836 fans voting, about 1.5 times more than last year's vote. Nominees are: 'Canyon'Kim Gun-bu for the 'League of Legends' event, 'Kiin'Kim Ki-in, 'Page'Kim Soo-hwan, 'Keria'Ryu Min-seok, 'Oner'Moon Hyun-jun, 'Lee Hsi-woo, 'Kumayushi'Lee Min-hyung, 'Faker'Lee Sang-hyuk, 'Choby'Jung Ji-hoon, 'Zeus'Choi Choi Woo-je (10 people)'Texture'Kim Nara, 'Caron'Kim. The top six players selected by fan voting '2024 Stars' will be finally announced at the induction ceremony and will be displayed at the eSports Hall of Fame for one year.

A total of 16 players have been listed for 'Honors' so far, and in 2023, 'Kan'Kim Dong-ha of 'League of Legends' was selected. Following the induction ceremony, the event 'eSportsmen's Night' will also be held, and the winners of the Team of the Year, Sports of the Year Award, and Achievement Award (represented by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism) will be announced.

In addition, this year's induction ceremony will also feature a 'Congratulations' event for viewers. You can follow the Esports Hall of Fame Instagram and leave a message of congratulation and support to the 2024 Esports Hall of Fame players and winners in this event post. Through a lottery, two long pads with the signatures of the inductees will be presented. The induction ceremony will be available on Naver and the Korea e-Sports Association's official website, YouTube, and SOOP from 5 p.m. that day. The induction ceremony will be hosted by caster Jeon Yong-joon and announcer Kwon Yi-seul.
