48-Year-Old Veteran Driver Jang Hyun-jin Wins 2024 Driver of the Year Award

Jang Hyun-jin had his best season at the award ceremony hosted by the Korea Automobile Racing Association (KARA) on the 19th at Sebit Island in Banpo, Seoul, and his team Seo Han-GP was selected as the racing team of the year.
Starting with the CJ Korea GT Championship, the predecessor of the Super Race in 2006, Jang Hyun-jin displayed his power to become the Super 6000 Driver Champion, the top class in Korea, 18 years after his debut in motorsports. Until the end of the season, Jang Hyun-jin competed fiercely with Kim Joong-gun, Jung Eui-cheol, and Hwang Jin-woo (Junpitched Racing) of the same team. It also received the Record of the Year Award, which is given to athletes who have participated in 100 official competitions. Jang Hyun-jin said, `I really wanted to win this award once before the career deadline. There is not much time left until retirement, but I will continue to be an example for my juniors."
The female driver award went to Kim Tae-hee (Bravio), who played an active part in the Hyundai N Festival N2 Class. Kim Tae-hee set the record for the most pole position (7 times) in history and showed steady performance in the GT class. The "Circuit of the Year" was awarded to Everland Speedway, which contributed to the popularization of motorsports, and the trophy was also awarded to 30 overall winners of the season of major classes.
The Fair Play Award was won by Moon Se-eun (Super Race) and Shin Woo-jin (Hyundai N Festival), and the Seo Seung-beom Racer Memorial Project was awarded a merit award. Cart drivers Lee Kyu-ho, Yoon Da-niel, and Jeong Jin-seo were honored with the newly established Rising Star Award for the development of youth motorsports.
Kang Shin-ho, president of the Korea Automobile Racing Association (CJ Korea Express), said "The number of on-site spectators at this year's motorsport competition exceeded 200,000, and the number of participants in the introductory event exceeded 1,500." We will continue to expand the base of domestic motor sports" he said.
