Choi Shin-won, president of the Korea Fencing Association, who has supported 'Fencing Korea' in both ways, has been elected as the first vice president of the Asian Fencing Federation for the third consecutive time.

Chairman Choi was appointed vice chairman of the Asia Fencing Federation at the 2024 Asia Fencing Federation General Assembly held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 1st (Korea time). In 2019. He was elected as the first vice president of the Asian Fencing Federation for the third consecutive time following 2021. Chairman Choi is the first to win the election of three consecutive vice presidents of international organizations.

Choi, who took office as the president of the Korean Fencing Association in 2018, actively supported athletes and leaders, instilled the fighting spirit of the Taegeuk Warriors, and led Korean fencing to gold medals at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, and the 2024 Paris Olympics. In each competition, including the Paris Olympics, athletes' morale was boosted by the enthusiasm to support them in the first row of the stadium, customized training before the competition, special support, and rewards. With the leader's passion and sincerity, the men's sabre team won its third consecutive Olympic team title, and the women's sabre team also won its first-ever silver medal at the Paris Olympics with a successful generational change.

Choi actively engaged in sports diplomacy for the development of fencing in Asia and the world as well as Korea. Shortly after he ran for vice chairman of the Asian Fencing Federation in 2018, he hosted the Asian Games in South Korea and held junior training camps to win the Asian Award for his contribution to the development of Asian fencing. Thanks to Chairman Choi's generous support, Korean executives ran for four major committees, including technical committee Jeong Jin-man, referee committee Kim Chang-gon, public relations committee Han Woo-ri and women's committee Kim Ji-yeon, and all won the general meeting of the Asian Fencing Federation.
