BNK Thumb firmly maintained its No. 1 position in the first half with a pleasant victory ahead of the All-Star Game break.

BNK won the last game of the first half against Hana Bank in the last game of the first half of 'Hana Bank 2024-2025 Women's Professional Basketball' held at Bucheon Gymnasium on the 15th, winning 12 games (3 losses), marking the second half of the year with an 80% remarkable winning rate. On the other hand, Hana Bank, which has an advantage in height, continued to be dragged around except for the third quarter, losing completely and falling from fifth place to the bottom.

In the first half, BNK showed perfect performance as the leading team. From the start of the first quarter, Lee So-hee and Ahn Hye-ji made a light start by combining seven points with consecutive breakthroughs following the two-man game. Kim Sonia and Park Hye-jin then joined the scoring inside and outside, and a total of six players, including Iijima Saki and Byun So-jung, scored evenly, leading the first quarter 23-10. Hana Bank's veteran Kim Jong-un barely held out with eight points, including two three-pointers.

In the second quarter, BNK ran away frighteningly from the middle. Although he scored only four points until the middle of the quarter, Park Hye-jin, Lee So-hee and Kim Sonia scored as many as 18 points, including three consecutive three-pointers, leading 45-21 in the first half. In particular, the ball turned organically inside and outside, and the players who learned the sense of ball scored without fail in the perfect chance created by receiving the screen, recreating the unbeatable pace of six consecutive wins at the beginning of the season.

However, BNK is a team of 'Small Ball' specialized in fast transitions, consisting of only guards and forwards, so they often struggle if the opponent has a strong center. Bae Hye-yoon was completely defeated by Samsung Life Insurance, which is holding out, showing weakness at the height in both of the recent two face-offs, and both of the previous two games against Hana Bank, where Jinan and Yang In-young's double posts are in operation, were also behind in the first half.

This weakness was exposed when Hana Bank came out with regional defense in the third quarter. Hana Bank used a thorough 'Sagging' strategy to keep the inside of the goal firmly and leave only guard Ahn Hye-ji, who has the lowest shooting accuracy rate among BNK's outer guns, but all four of Ahn Hye-ji's three-point shots failed as intended. In the meantime, Kim Jong-un and Park Jin-young actively targeted the outside and Jinan and Kim Si-on actively targeted the bottom of the goal, scoring 18 points, closely following 39-49 with about three minutes left in the quarter. However, Ahn Hye-ji's 5th 3-point attempt dug into the rim with the end of the third quarter, and the atmosphere was dramatically reversed again, which continued to the end.

BNK, which found some room, led the score again to 65-43 with about three minutes left before the end, effectively ending the match, as Ahn Hye-ji's three-point series broke out following Kim Son-ia and Park Hye-jin. Four players, including Kim Sonia (20 points), Ahn Hye-ji (15 points), Park Hye-jin (14 points) and Lee So-hee (10 points), scored double-digit points, and won 47-26 in the rebound fight.
