"Kim Do-young was above the level until May."

For Kang Seung-ho (30, Doosan Bears), the Doosan Bears have become a team that has changed their baseball life.

Nominated in the first round (3rd overall) by the LG Twins in the 2013 rookie draft, he transferred to the SK Wyverns (currently SSG Landers) in a trade in 2018.

He was given the opportunity, but he couldn't make it clear, but he wore a Doosan uniform as Choi Joo-hwan's FA compensation player after the end of the 2020 season.

He hit only 239 with seven home runs in 113 games in the first year of his transfer, but ranked first in non-FA fielders with a batting average of 264 with 10 home runs and 62 RBIs in 134 games in 2022.

He also had a pleasant nickname of "1st place in high school" and ranked first in high school for the second consecutive year last year with 267, seven homers and 59 RBIs in 127 games.

Kang Seung-ho's march to No. 1 in high school continued this year. Playing in 140 games, he had a batting average of 288 home runs, 16 steals, 81 RBIs, and an OPS (long hit + on base) of 0.804 and spent the 'career high' season. In particular, he had a batting average of 333 and seven home runs in 33 games until April, maintaining a batting average of .300 until May, showing a sharp sense of hitting. Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop also applauded Kang Seung-ho for his performance, saying, `Kim Do-young (KIA) or higher until May.'

His salary has also increased dramatically. It was stamped at 370 million won, up 45.1% from 255 million won.

He has established himself as the main second baseman at Doosan, but he may take on another new challenge next season.

Doosan finished this season and had holes all over the infield. Heo Kyung-min, who was the main third baseman, left for KT Wiz, and Kim Jae-ho, who was a postseason shortstop, retired.

Doosan has the resources to play second base and shortstop, including Lee Yoo-chan, Park Ji-hoon, Yeo Dong-gun, Oh Myung-jin, and Park Joon-soon. Some of them have experience as third baseman, but Kang Seung-ho's move to third baseman can also be drawn to maximize his offense and raise the overall infield defense. Manager Lee Seung-yeop also said, `If Kang Seung-ho can play as a third baseman, the infield management can be more flexible because Yeo Dong-gun and Lee Yoo-chan can be used as second basemen or shortstop.'

Kang Seung-ho also began preparing for next season in earnest, volunteering to participate in the closing camp. Kang Seung-ho said during the closing camp, `Rather than just resting, I'm trying to check what I lacked this season while training and find a direction on what to do next season.' `Next year, I have to do better than this season. Watching young players working hard, I thought I should do more. I'm trying to work a little harder."
