The Korea Football Association (KFA) has decided to hold the president of the Korea Football Association for the funeral of the late president of the Korean Women's Football Federation, Oh Kyu-sang, who led the golden generation of women's soccer.

KFA said "The Korea Football Association has decided to hold the funeral of the late chairman Oh Kyu-sang, who died on the 20th, as the president of the Korea Football Association. Chairman Oh Kyu-sang contributed to the development of Korean soccer by serving as the director of the Korea Football Association since the 1990s, and in particular, he made the decision in honor of his long-standing dedication to the development of Korean women's soccer, including the creation of the WK League after taking office as the president of the Korea Women's Football Association in 2009", he explained.

The funeral ceremony will be held at the Korea Football Center at 10 a.m. on the 23rd.

Chairman Oh, who graduated from Kyungshin High School and Korea University, was selected as a national team member in 1977 and is a player-turned-administrator who served as the vice head of Ulsan Hyundai in professional football and the head of Ulsan Hyundai Mipo Chosun in business football. While working as a key staff member of the MJ (honorary president of the Football Association Chung Mong-joon), he became a vice president of the Women's Football Federation since 2003 and has been the head since 2009. He led women's soccer to its peak in 2010 by winning the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, ranking third in the U-20 Women's World Cup, and advancing to the Women's World Cup for the third consecutive time.

Chairman Oh died while battling liver cancer at a hospice ward in Seoul on the afternoon of the 20th. He was 68.
