Crossfire will participate in the e-Sports World Cup as an official event for three years starting next year

Smilegate said the FPS game 'Crossfire' was adopted as an official event for the 'ESports World Cup (EWC) 2025' held in Saudi Arabia.

EWC is the world's largest comprehensive e-sports competition hosted by Saudi Arabia's EWC Federation (EWC Federation). It consists of 18 events in various genres, including FPS, MOBA, battle royale, RTS, and fighting, and 'Crossfire' has also signed a three-year partnership with the EWC Federation and will participate in next year's competition. EWC 2025 will be held next summer in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

EWC Federation Chief Game Officer Fabian Scheuermann said "'Crossfire' has established itself as one of the most beloved games in China and the Asia-Pacific region, continuing to expand its enthusiastic fan base. We will work together to create greater results on the strong foundation of the global community of `Crossfire.'

Smilegate Entertainment CEO Jang In-ah said "The adoption of the 'Crossfire' as EWC 2025 event will be a very important turning point in the ecosystem of the 'Crossfire' esports."We expect the hosting of the official event at the EWC to serve as an opportunity to further solidify our position on the global stage. Through mutual cooperation between the two companies, we will provide the best experience for all the players, fans, and partners of the 'Crossfire'."

Launched in 2007, 'Crossfire' has 1.1 billion users in 80 countries worldwide, including online and mobile platforms. The CFS, an 'Crossfire' esports competition, is celebrating its 11th anniversary this year. The CFS's highest authority 'CFS 2024 Grand Final' ended in Hangzhou, China on the 15th. Meanwhile, EWC, held for the first time last year, is an e-sports festival where top players compete for the largest prize money ever, covering platforms and genres. In EWC 2024, 200 clubs from 100 countries and 1,500 athletes participated in 21 events. The total prize money amounted to 60 million dollars (about 86 billion won).
