A boy who went to watch Game 1 of the 2024 MLB World Series became a millionaire by catching a home run ball with his father. The home run ball that the boy and his father gave him was sold at a higher price than the top lotto. It sold for the third highest amount ever in an open auction. It was 1.56 million dollars, or 2.24 billion won, more than the top Korean lotto.
MLB.COM reported on the 16th (Korea time) that Freddie Freeman (LA Dodgers) hit against New York Yankees pitcher Nestor Cortes in Game 1 of the 2024 World Series at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on October 26 for $1.56 million at an SPC auction.

Because of this meaning, this home run ball was sold more expensive than expected. The $1.56 million is the third highest ever baseball auction.
The most expensive ball ever sold was Shohei Ohtani's 50th home run ball of the season. In the 2024 season, Onati became the first major league player to hit 50 home runs and 50 steals (54 home runs and 59 steals). His 50th home run ball was auctioned in October and sold for $4.392 million (about 6.3 billion won).
The second highest price ever was Mark Maguire's 70th home run ball in 1998. It was sold for $3.05 million (about 4.3 billion won).
The third most expensive home run ball in MLB history is Jack Ruderman, a 10-year-old boy. Louderman, a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, hit the jackpot while sitting in the outfield seat of the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium, where Game 1 of the World Series was held, with his father.

Perhaps because the boy caught the ball, the crowd around him congratulated the Rutherman boy and his father in a relatively peaceful atmosphere at the time. If it is such a meaningful ball, there is a fierce scramble accompanied by physical struggle to occupy each other. Mr. Nico, the boy's father, "All the audience was wonderful. Everyone congratulated me and ran around. Everyone wanted to take a picture with Jack"The view of the audience at the time was reported.
The process by which this boy got a home run ball is also interesting.

Jack was disappointed because he couldn't take off his braces at the time, but he realized that visiting the ballpark was more valuable as he picked up a $1.56 million home run ball instead.
