Liverpool's flagship striker Mohamed Salah (32) served as the vanguard of Manchester City's defeat in the 13th round of the EPL in the 2024-2025 season at Anfield, Liverpool, England, on the 2nd (Korea time). Salah led his team to a 2-0 victory with one goal and one assist on the day. All the goals came from Salah's toes. The victory can be evaluated as 'hard carry'.
With this victory, Liverpool secured its 11th win (one draw and one loss) of the season, solidifying its league leadership. He scored 34 points, widening the gap with second-place Arsenal (25 points) to nine points.
Salah's one-man show completed the victory. Salah broke through the right side of the penalty box during a quick counterattack in the 12th minute of the first half and fired a left-footed cross. He laid the ball low and penetrated the empty space in front of the opponent's defense and the goalkeeper. Cody Gakpo was waiting at the ball's arrival point. Gakpo lightly pushed the ball in to score the first goal.
Salah then scored a decisive goal in the 31st minute of the second half when he had a close 1-0 lead.
Liverpool, which won thanks to Salah's perfect offensive play, greatly increased its chances of winning the league. Salah has scored 13 goals-11 assists this season.
In addition, Salah scored two offensive points on the day, tying the only special record held by Wayne Rooney.

It is a remarkable record. Such a milestone can only be set when it is accompanied by thorough self-management and maintenance of the sense of play.
But so far, Salah has fallen short of Rooney in terms of EPL records. Rooney has scored a career-high 208 goals, while Salah has 168. Salah's (76) is also 30 or more short of Rooney (108).
This difference comes from a total of games played. Rooney played 491 games in the EPL. Salah is only 275 games. 216 games or fewer appearances. Considering this, Salah's pace itself may be evaluated as better than Rooney.
