The association will hold the KeSPA Cup for the first time, which will be contested with 'FC Mobile' following the '2024 League of Legends KeSPA Cup' held from November 30 to December 8. Nexon's service 'FC Mobile' was designated as a new national team promotion event this year, and this competition was also designated as a national team selection index review competition, so the competition data will be used to select national players. According to the association, it will actively cope with the gradually expanding national competition and use it to select a fair national team.
In Korea, Cho Hwan-joon, who was selected through the Korean national team selection contest involving the top winners of the EA Global Competition 'FC Pro Masters' held in April, will participate. In addition, representative players selected from six countries in China, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Jordan will form teams of two from each country and play in a two-to-two multi-player match.
The group stage will be held on the 21st, and the semifinals and finals will be held on the 22nd, with the top four teams participating. 'FC Mobile' is a rapidly growing e-sports event worldwide and continues to expand globally, focusing on Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand. In particular, it is highly likely to be selected as an official event in international e-sports competitions, so it is considered an event with sufficient competitiveness and potential. With this KeSPA Cup as an opportunity, the association plans to strategically foster 'FC Mobile' to strengthen the acceptability and competitiveness of Korean e-sports national representatives. He also said that the KeSPA Cup and professional festival competitions will be linked to expand next year's competitions and promote various plans to foster a wide range of athletes and revitalize sports.
