Samsung Lions outfielder Koo Ja-wook advanced to the Korean Series for the first time in nine years but was unable to play. Samsung fell to its knees with one win and four losses against the KIA Tigers in Koo Ja-wook's absence. Samsung has definitely strengthened its power by pouring 10.2 billion won into the FA market this winter.
Koo had his best year of 2024. He had a batting average of 343, OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 1.044, with 33 home runs and 115 RBIs. OPS was second in the league as it surpassed its first career .300 batting average, 30 home runs, and 100 RBIs. He also won the Golden Glove for the third time in his career. Samsung also advanced to the Korean Series for the first time since 2015 after finishing second in the regular season.
Koo Ja-wook said "Personal performance is important, but team performance is even more important. I think this year was twice as happy because both of them were good. Just because I'm good alone doesn't mean my team's performance will improve. Other players did a great job and prepared hard. Based on this, I think it will be a strength to prepare for next year."
The ending was unfortunate. Koo Ja-wook injured his right knee during the second playoff game against the LG Twins. Koo Ja-wook went 4 for 5 with one home run and a bat in two playoff games. He showed off his peak hitting sense to lead Samsung's fierce momentum, but the injury was hampered. Samsung had a glimmer of hope by including Koo Ja-wook in the Korean Series entry. However, Koo Ja-wook couldn't even stand at bat in the end.
It was a huge loss of power for Samsung. Looking back on the Korean Series, Koo Ja-wook said, `I thought I could do it at the time, but looking back now, I think it was difficult. I can't remember very well." Then "There were a lot of touching moments. I think there was a touching feeling. I didn't shed tears, but I think I was crying in my heart."

Choi Won-tae said, `I will do my best to win the championship. Personally, I want to play a lot of innings. I want to throw at least 150 innings every season"I vowed. Ryu Ji-hyuk said, `I still can't forget that I lost the Korean Series until now. Next year's goal is to win unconditionally." Kang Min-ho, the master of Samsung, also said, `If I go one more time, I want to play the game properly no matter what team I'm on without the injured"He fired up his fighting spirit.
Koo Ja-wook is still in rehabilitation. Koo Ja-wook said "It's about 30% now. I was originally wearing a cast, but now I've undone it. It's a lot better now." The goal is to go to spring camp in full physical condition. Koo Ja-wook said, `I will try to finish my rehabilitation before spring camp without any problems. The goal is to make it 100% before then because I have to continue my exercise and rehabilitation even when I go to spring camp."
