MLB.com denied that the Twins' situation is difficult to see as having access to big-name players in the market, but considering that Japanese Young Gun Sasaki is in the spotlight of the entire Major League this offseason, it is difficult to see teams like the Twins disappear from the list immediately under the influence of rich East-West clubs.
In other words, the Minnesota Twins can jump into the Sasaki scramble. Minnesota is a leading small market club. This year, the home audience ranked 23rd with 11.95 million people, and ranked 21st with $1.46 billion in Forbes Major League club valuation.
President of Minnesota Baseball and Business Operations Derek Falvey said in an interview at MLB.com "We're interested, too. "I have one room in the building, and it would be a shocking statement to me if I said otherwise," he said. "I want to know what Sasaki is looking for and what the next process will be in this posting process."
Minnesota has a solid starting lineup in the AL. Looking at the status of offseason starters, Pablo Lopez, Joe Ryan, Bailey Over, Chris Paddack, Simian Woods Richardson, David Festa and Jebi Matthews are the complete starters, and young prospects are behind them.

He then said "I don't know how he sees such clubs. The small market club could be better for him, but we don't know what he thinks of it yet,' he said, adding that `I haven't had the opportunity to have a lot of conversations with Sasaki yet.'
In other words, I haven't asked Sasaki's thoughts on small market clubs like Minnesota yet. There is a strong perception that players from Asia will usually prefer big market clubs. This is why the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are considered the leading destinations for Sasaki.
Minnesota has had fun as a Japanese pitcher. Right-hander Kenta Maeda ranked second in the AL Cy Young Award with 6-1 losses, 2.70 ERA and 80 strikeouts in Minnesota in 2020, which was the shortened season. Earlier in 2011-2012, infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka also played an active role.

In the case of Shohei Ohtani, when he joined the Los Angeles Angels in the winter of 2017, he received $2.315 million as a Cyning Bonus.
President Palby said "Negotiations will take place here over the next few weeks. We will talk about the best way to communicate with our club, what our club thinks is important, what the culture of our club is like, and why we are the right place for Sasaki."
Earlier, the Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Tampa Bay Rays also showed interest in Sasaki.
Detroit President Scott Harris said in an interview with local media after the recent winter meeting that `we are preparing hard for a presentation that will appeal to Sasaki and his agent. We will fully communicate our position because it will be a very fierce competition. Please consider that we are very interested in Sasaki."
