There was nothing unusual. HL Anyang, Asia's strongest beyond South Korea, won its first five consecutive wins.

HL Anyang defeated Yonsei University 3-0 with Lee Hyun-seung, Lee Joo-hyung and Lee Min-jae's relay goal in the 79th National Ice Hockey Championship (Sport Chosun, Chosun Ilbo, and Korea Ice Hockey Association), which ended at Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul on the 24th.

The National Championship, which began in 1946, shortly after liberation, is the nation's largest ice hockey festival in which both vocational and university teams compete for the best skills. In the semifinals, HL Anyang defeated Korea University and Yonsei University defeated the new team KW Woodyre to reach the final. HL Anyang and Yonsei University met in the final of the tournament for the third consecutive year. Last year, Yonsei University led by scoring three points first, but HL Anyang showed its back-to-back strength and won the game 5-4.

The journey continued this year. HL Anyang, who is ranked first this season after winning the Asian League last season, pushed Yonsei University hard from the beginning. The first goal was scored 13 minutes and 16 seconds into the first period. Lee Hyun-seung solved the pass sent by defender Jihyo-seok from behind the opponent's goal post to the front of the gate. In the second period, Lee Joo-hyung and Lee Min-jae split the trend with consecutive goals of 1:10 and 11:15 respectively.

HL Anyang has topped the list for five consecutive years since 2000. The fifth consecutive gold medal is the first of its kind in the tournament. In addition, he will hold the record of most wins (14 times) in the tournament with Yonsei University. HL Anyang celebrated its 30th anniversary on the 22nd. Yonsei, on the other hand, was once again frustrated at the top threshold after winning the event for the last time in 2004.

HL Anyang Lee Hyun-seung won the Most Valuable Player (MVP), and Yonsei University's fourth-year student Jeon Hyuk-joon won the Outstanding Player Award. Lee Seung-jae, a senior at Yonsei University, received the most points award.
