MLB.com reported on the 4th (Korea time) 'The Kiwoom Heroes club will post Kim Hye-sung, the KBO's top hitter, at 12 p.m. (U.S. Eastern time)'Kim Hye-sung will freely negotiate with Major League teams for the next 30 days' If the MLB Commissioner's Secretariat announces the posting at 2 a.m. on the 5th (Thursday) Korean time, Kim Hye-sung can negotiate with 30 Major League teams by January 4th next year.
Earlier, after receiving the second baseman's defense award at the KBO League regular season ceremony on the 26th of last month, Kim Hye-sung told reporters, `I can't go to all major leagues just because I want to go, but I really want to go. After the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S., I intend to apply for a posting system and move to the U.S. "
When Kim Hye-sung expressed his willingness to enter the Major League, the official Major League website immediately responded.
MLB.com posted 'Kim Hye-sung has a batting average of 0.304 and an on-base percentage of 0.364 over eight years at Kiwoom, and marked seven consecutive seasons with 20 steals or more, including 46 in 2021. He introduced the slash line of 0.326/0.383/0.458 this year, 11 home runs, and 30 steals' and said that he not only has strong defense ability as a middle infielder, but also won the KBO Golden Glove twice as a second baseman, and as a shortstop in 2021.'
The Seattle Mariners are mainly mentioned as clubs that can recruit Kim Hye-sung. MLB Network reporters John Morosi and Mark Pinesand once said Kim Hye-sung is a suitable FA for Seattle.
MLB.com said, "'Seattle had only a batting average of 0.209 and an OPS of 0.658 this year, and a strikeout rate of 27.1%'Kim Hye-sung had a strikeout rate of 16.3% in 3,819 at-bats.'" This means that Kim Hye-sung will help Seattle in its lack of on-base and mobility.
If Kim Hye-sung succeeds in entering the U.S. this winter, he could become the fifth major leaguer from Kiwoom after Kang Jung-ho, Park Byung-ho, Kim Ha-sung, and Lee Jung-hoo.
