Dear hockey family
How are you? I'm Lee Sang-hyun, president of the Korea Hockey Association.
It has already been four years since the 31st executive branch was launched, and it is time to wrap up the last year. Through the clean hockey campaign, all members of our hockey team, including players, leaders, administrators, and elders, have worked hard to raise the dignity of hockey and create a culture that respects each other. It also overcame the slump in men's and women's medals at the 2018 Asian Games in Palembang, Jakarta, and achieved women's silver and men's bronze at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. In addition, several competitions were created to foster youth hockey, which will be the driving force of hockey in Korea in the future, and textbooks, parish development, and education systems were introduced. In addition, financial stability was achieved with the attraction of financial holding sponsors and the help of various executives from non-economic backgrounds. Now, hockey people themselves have joined donations to raise the ethics of their juniors, and have also created a beautiful tradition in which the winning team contributes to the community through volunteer activities. I think all of these are valuable assets created by all of us hockey people.
As chairman and hockey player, I felt several unforgettable moments. They shared the joy of victory and the sadness of defeat, felt sorry for the difficulties of the field, and rejoiced as if it were their job to hear good news from each hockey player. Personally, it was a great reward and an honor. In order for Korean hockey to develop in the future, I think continuous unity is necessary above all else. I hope that various levels of communication will be made for this.
Now that the implementation projects of the 31st executive branch have all been completed, I am about to finish my position as president of the Korea Hockey Association.
I believe that the new executive will further develop our hockey on the basis of what we have achieved together in the future. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and encouraged me for my many shortcomings. As an eternal hockey player, we will continue to show interest and support for the development of hockey in Korea anytime, anywhere. I hope you always stay healthy. Thank you.
