Negotiations between the New York Mets and Pete Alonso are said to be in trouble. The Mets, who spent more than 1 trillion won to recruit Juan Soto, are actually passive in signing a contract with Alonso 'House Rabbit'.

Major League Baseball's official website MLB.com reported on the 27th (Korea time) 'The gap between Alonso and the Mets is considerable (Sizable gap)'

The Mets are showing off their hideous financial power by recruiting Soto for 765 million dollars (about 1.1 trillion won) in the stove league. Mets owner Steve Cohen is known to have assets of a whopping 30 trillion won.

No matter how much money you have, you seem to cherish it when you save it.

Alonso is a Mets franchise star. He made his debut with the Mets in 2019. He became the Rookie of the Year with 53 home runs in his debut season. He is a four-time All-Star in six seasons. He is a big shot first baseman who has hit more than 30 home runs for four consecutive years.

MLB.com said 'Alonso seemed very likely to stay in the Mets. However, the Mets seem to have another alternative in mind at first base. The Mets could move Mark Vientos to first base and compete with Brett Batty and Ronnie Mauricio at third base, he explained.

It is also disadvantageous to Alonso that most of the first baseman's traffic arrangements have been completed in recent days.

MLB.com is followed by Christian Walker for the Houston Astros, Paul Goldschmidt for the New York Yankees, Josh Naylor for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Carlos Santana for the Cleveland Guardians and Nathaniel Low for the Washington Nationals. Some of them also targeted Alonso. The Seattle Mariners also need first base, but there is a high possibility that they cannot afford the funds to satisfy Alonso. The San Francisco Giants also shed light on Goldschmidt but have not yet been connected to Alonso.

The Athletic, a sports media outlet, predicted Alonso's contract to be worth $130 million for five years. It is the most expensive ransom among the remaining first basemen in the FA market.

Mark Feinsend of MLB.com pointed out that "Alonso is not in demand at the moment"

If there is no place to call other than the Mets, Alonso will eventually have to accept the Mets' offer.
