The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) will launch a joint preparatory group of related organizations such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Unification, and the Korea Sports Council on the 19th ahead of the Harbin Winter Asian Games in February next year, and hold a meeting presided over by the second vice minister Jang Mi-ran.

The Harbin Winter Asian Games, which will be held from February 7th to 14th next year, will be the first winter Asian Games in eight years since the 2017 Sapporo Games, and more than 1,500 athletes from 34 countries will participate. South Korea will send 226 athletes (150 athletes, 52 game executives, and 24 headquarters executives) to 11 sub-sets in six sports, including biathlon, curling, ice hockey, ice skating, skiing and mountain skiing, and 64 sub-sets. At this preparatory meeting, the players will show their full performance and safety

In order to participate in the competition, we will comprehensively check the preparation status of the competition and the current status of player support, and discuss ways to cooperate with related organizations. It will also seek safe ways to watch the tournament and revitalize Chinese tourism to Korea as an opportunity for the Asian Games.
