Daejeon announced on the 16th that it recruited Park Kyu-hyun, a defender from the German Bundesliga, and fired a full-fledged signal to strengthen the winter transfer market. After going through Mullae Middle School in Seoul and Hyundai High School in Ulsan, he transferred to SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on loan ahead of the 2019-2020 season.
In his first season, he mainly played for the under-19 team (under 19) and the second team. In the 2020-2021 season, he was appointed to the second-tier team in earnest, and played almost all games full time until the league was suspended and abolished in October due to COVID-19.
He transferred to Bremen in July 2021 and scored one point and one assist in 13 games for Bremen II. Since then, Park Kyu-hyun, who completely transferred to Dinamo Dresden on loan, has played in 37 games and posted two assists.
Park Kyu-hyun, who has consistently played as a member of the national team by age, won the Panda Cup in Chengdu, China in 2019 and won the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games as a representative of the U-23 (under 23). Coach Hwang directly led the Hangzhou Asian Games. He won the gold medal at the Asian Games. Last year, he was also selected for the A national team led by coach Jurgen Klinsmann and made his debut.
Park Kyu-hyun is a multi-resource that can play not only the left side defense, which is the main position, but also the center defense and defensive midfielder. Daejeon, which needs reinforcement on the left side, is expected to play a big role in improving its power next season.
Park Kyu-hyun said "Thank you so much for choosing me by the coach and the club. I am familiar with the history and tradition of the club called Daejeon. Daejeon is currently a big club, and I want to play a pivotal role in performing well in line with the manager's goals"I personally want to play in the ACL and win the league. It's a club that can do that, and I think there's plenty of possibility. Lastly, I want to be a player who gives joy to Daejeon fans and bury their bones in a club called Daejeon," he said.
