Oh Jae-won's drug administration, a former professional baseball star, was shocking news.

The fact that he asked his former teammates to prescribe sleeping pills as a proxy surprised the world once again.

A situation in which more fundamental cause analysis and systematic response are needed along with alarm to dismiss it as an individual deviation. Thorough education and management are needed to prevent contact with prohibited drugs from young shoots and young people.

Already years ago, it was shocking to discover that a youth baseball class run by a former professional baseball player supplied illegal drugs to improve performance.

Proactive measures are needed to ensure that young players are not tempted by banned drugs to improve their performance for professional nominations.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) has also rolled up its sleeves to prevent the spread of prohibited drugs among aspiring baseball players.

Since 2019, doping tests have been conducted on all rookie players designated for 10 professional baseball teams for six years.

This year, too, there was nothing wrong with it.

KBO conducted doping tests on all 110 rookie players in 2025 KBO along with the Korea Anti-Doping Committee, the Korea Professional Sports Association, and the Korea Baseball Softball Association. All the target players were tested negative.

Anti-doping education and full doping tests were conducted from October 18 to October 25, 2024, and the Korea Anti-Doping Commission (KADA) notified KBO of the results on the 13th that all players were negative.

KBO said it will continue to conduct anti-doping education and inspections to protect player health from drugs and create a fair sports environment for all players, including rookie players who are entering professional baseball for the first time.
