'Son Heung-min has never peaked at Tottenham since Harry Kane left.'

Amid a flurry of interest over Son Heung-min's renewal, Ian Darke, a British soccer expert and TV commentator, gave a cool opinion on Son's current form.

Tottenham News quoted Darke's comment after writing on the 4th (Korea time) that `Son Heung-min has worn the captain's armband since Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich in 2023, but he has still not lifted a single championship since he came to Tottenham in 2015.'

Darke said he believes there are no issues between Son Heung-min and Tottenham, but he does not think he is the same player as he was two seasons ago. `Son Heung-min is one of the players that can only be recognized through interviews,' he said. `I don't know for sure what his mentality is, but he is a great professional and he knows how much what he has done for the club means to Tottenham and the fans.' "From that point of view, I don't think Son will say much, and people think Son will still be an asset at the age of 33-34, even though he doesn't have the partnership he used to have with Harry Kane in the past."," he added.

However, the media wrote that `Son Heung-min and Tottenham have begun solving problems in the future,' adding that `Son Heung-min is currently 32 years old, and Tottenham and Son Heung-min are negotiating well to extend their contract by one more year until the end of the 2025-2026 season.' Tottenham will challenge for their first trophy since 2008 and regard the iconic South Korean striker as a valuable asset,' he added.
