From 2021 to this year, CEO Lee Sang-hyun led the revival of hockey sports through self-purification efforts, financial stabilization, international performance improvement, and the introduction of youth hockey as the president of the Korean Hockey Association. Following his maternal grandfather, the late LS Cable Honorary Chairman Koo Tae-hoe (former chairman of the Korea Weightlifting Federation), and his father, Lee In-jeong, chairman of the Asian Mountain Federation (former chairman of the Korea Mountain Federation), he served as the third-generation sports organization head for the first time in Korean sports history and became a hot topic with his family "Sports Love CEO".
Lee, who is a former student president of Hanyang University and has a special interest in sports ethics and social contribution, received the Korea Sports Association's Best Sports Human Rights Management Award through the Clean Hockey Campaign during his term as president of the Korean Hockey Association and led the men's and women's medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games with generous support for the team. He actively served as a member of the inter-Korean sports exchange committee of the Korean Sports Council, the director of the Korean Sports Council, and the chairman of the domestic Olympic venue selection committee, and provided support for both sides of the water as the deputy head of the South Korean squad for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and 2024 Paris Olympics.
Lee is also a representative sports figure who will serve as a bridge at a time when harmony and co-prosperity between the Korea Sports Council and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism are important. Chairman Lee announced a new challenge on the 20th after resigning as president of the Korea Hockey Association on the 18th.
If Lee Sang-hyun is elected, LS Group personnel will lead the federation's head again after Koo Ja-yeol, a former LS Group chairman who led the cycle development by serving as the chairman of the Korea Cycling Federation for 14 years.
