On the 28th (Korea time), Juventus Sports Director Cristiano Ziuntoli was interviewed by Italian media Mondo Primavera. He mentioned Takai's name along with David Hantzko of Slovenia, saying 'We're looking at a number of ways to help the team in the second half of the year.
Earlier, another Italian media outlet Ilkori Lédelosport also said Juventus is interested in recruiting Dakai.
Takai, a Kawasaki Youth native, is considered a center back with forward build-up ability at 1m92. He made his professional debut in 2022 and made his A-match debut in September as a substitute in the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifying match against China.
Mondo Primavera said: "'Juventus will recruit him in January next year and send him on loan to Belgium or the Netherlands to give him time to adapt to European football' and added: "'When Juventus' non-EU quota is vacated next season, he will join the Dakaido squad.'" At the same time, he predicted that `Erased Tolley is watching the situation, and Juventus will contact (to recruit Dakai) within a few weeks.'
Dakai's trip to Juventus is likely to happen if he makes an offer. Most of the J-League teams are not refusing players to go to Europe. Some even commented that 'I'm giving up a player at a very low price.
Currently, most of the Japanese national team players are active on the European stage. However, there are no overseas players who stand out in the defense line compared to strikers and midfielders. There is Takehiro Tomiyasu (Arnall), but he has been disappointed as he has been reduced to a glass body, with rumors of his release at the end of this season. Attention is focusing on whether Takai will emerge as a new hope for the Japanese defense in the wake of his trip to Juventus.
