The 2006 Cuban Youth Baseball Championship, when South Korea defeated the U.S. and took the top spot. The MVP was given to Kim Kwang-hyun (36, SSG), a left-hander in the third grade of Ansan Technical High School, and there was a big gun first baseman who bombed the opponent's mound in the lineup.
Lee Doo-hwan, a junior at Jangchung High School, hit 364 (12 hits in 33 at-bats) with three home runs and eight RBIs and became the first baseman of the All-Star of the tournament.
A talent who would have played a big part in the KBO League. Lee joined the Doosan Bears in the second round in 2007.
He played in a first-team match in 2007, and continued to grow in the second-team. After hitting 21 home runs in the Futures League in 2010, he was called up to the first team and hit .321 home runs and six RBIs in 13 games with an OPS (long hit + on base) of 0.847, making him dream of next year.
Lee Doo-hwan's first-team record stopped in 2010. Having struggled with injuries in 2011, he received unexpected news in 2012. He was diagnosed with a rare disease called femoral head sarcoma. Baseball cheered his return, but he eventually passed away on Dec. 21 of that year.
The sadness of my friends who dreamed of the heyday of Korean baseball together was indescribable. They gathered in one place every year on the anniversary of Lee Doo-hwan's death.
Yang Hyun-jong (KIA), Kim Kwang-hyun, Lee Yong-chan (NC), and Kim Sun-bin (KIA), a year later, have become stars representing the KBO League. I have a family, and I have become a father. Some players looked at the top, and others coached or left the baseball world.

In the early days, he played 'Ilhoff' and opened youth baseball classes, leaving his friend's name in the memory of his junior baseball player. There was no big event, but they were still with their friends on December 21.
It's already been 12 years since Lee Doo-hwan left. They were still together. There was a lot of snow, and the weather was cold. However, they gathered the day before their friend left, and in the morning they found him.

Twelve years have passed, but Yang Hyun-jong vividly retains his friend Lee Doo-hwan. Yang Hyeon-jong said, "(I) think Doo-hwan is the best hitter among our 1988 friends. Power, contact, and bat speed were all outstanding. My personality is bright and round, so I followed my friends a lot and got along well. Most of all, he was a good smile," he said.

December 21st, full of sadness. '88 Doyoung' became a token of friendship with Lee Doo-hwan, who left first, for the rest of his life.
