It was the plan of Shin Mun-seon, a professor at Myongji University Graduate School of Record and Information Science who ran for the 55th president of the Korea Football Association. On the 27th, candidate Shin held a press conference for his candidacy at the Korea Football Center in Sinmun-ro, Seoul, under the slogan 「Finding a path for transformation of Korean soccer」. Candidate Shin retired from active duty early after three seasons as a player for the merit soccer team from 1983, and has been a broadcast commentator since 1986, gaining popularity among the public. Since 2011, he has worked as a professor at Myongji University, and in 2014, he served as the CEO of Seongnam FC and built his career as a soccer administrator. In 2017, he ran for the first time as the president of the Korean Professional Football Federation and failed to win the election.
As candidate Shin announced his candidacy, the election for the next president of the Korea Football Association became a "three-way race" with current chairman Chung Mong-kyu and former national soccer team coach Huh Jung-moo. The election for the president of the Korea Football Association will be held on January 8 next year, and candidate registration will take place from the 25th to the 27th of this month. The new chairman's term starts from the regular general meeting on Jan. 22.
What attracts attention is whether or not it is unified. There are talks both inside and outside the soccer community that the unification of candidate Shin and Heo could unite the sentiment of 'anti-Mong Mong-gyu' and prevent Chairman Chung from serving a fourth term. Candidate Shin said, `I know that more than 60 percent of people oppose Chung. I have different history and philosophy from candidate Heo. When the two of them combine, I am thinking about whether it will be a plus or a minus technically. I think it is right to analyze the situation and answer with time for the rest of the election."

At the time of Cho Joong-yeon's executive department in the past, Chairman Cho was paid. Since then, Chairman Chung has continued, and the chairman has not been paid. Candidate Shin should be paid for his work if he works. If you're a working chairman and you don't think about the cost of labor, it won't be fun to work. "Foreign commissioners and presidents are also receiving considerable salaries. When he is inaugurated as chairman, he will set wages on a commonsense basis. Next is the performance part. At the end of the settlement period, I will receive an evaluation of the business as a chief executive. I intend to go to work every day."
