Hyundai Engineering & Construction showed off its solid second-place presence with a complete victory over Korea Expressway Corporation.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction won the third round of the V-League Women's Division 25-1 (25-16, 25-23, 15-25, 25-19) against Korea Expressway Corporation at Suwon Indoor Gymnasium on the 15th.

The main gun Moma led the team's attack with 25 points, while Lee Da-hyun (11 points, 4 blocks, 2 serve aces), Jung Ji-yoon (9 points, 3 blocks) and Yang Hyo-jin (11 points, 2 blocks) helped. Tanacha (23 points) struggled for the Korea Expressway Corporation, but the defeat swallowed the disappointment.

With the victory, Hyundai Engineering & Construction recorded 11 wins and 4 losses (34 points) to secure the second place behind Heungkuk Life Insurance (14 wins and no losses, 40 points). On the other hand, Korea Expressway Corporation, which had 10 points (3 wins and 11 losses), failed to narrow the gap with fifth-ranked Pepper Savings Bank (15 points), which has been on the rise recently.

Hyundai E&C is a team with a milestone of 15 consecutive wins in a single season (2021-2022, 2022-2023 season). However, Heungkuk Life Insurance is threatening this by winning 14 consecutive games this season.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction coach Kang Sung-hyung, who met before the game, said, `Because we didn't beat Heungkuk in the first and second rounds,' but added "The record is to be broken, but I thought it would last a few years." He expressed his desire to keep our records.

Kim Jong-min, the head coach of the Korea Expressway Corporation, smiled bitterly, saying, `For the league to be fun, the last team has to win the first place, which is too much to be honest.'

Heungkuk Life Insurance's 15th consecutive win is Jung Kwan-jang on the 17th, and Hyundai Engineering & Construction's opponent in the new record challenge game is coincidentally on the 20th.

The first set was a complete victory for Hyundai Engineering & Construction. At the start of the game, Yang Hyo-jin, Jung Ji-yoon, and Lee Da-hyun's blockings broke out one after another to take a 6-1 lead. The road construction continued to lead steadily due to repeated mistakes, and Moma's serve ace also broke twice in the middle of the set. In 24-16, Moma's attack, which was out of sync, was hit by the net and fell to the opponent's court.

In the second set, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, led by Moma and Jung Ji-yoon, also drove 8-4, 17-12. Hyundai Engineering & Construction, which was easily ahead, was shaken by the fierce chase of the road corporation with Tanaka at the end of the set. At one point in the second set, coach Kim Jong-min, who put weight on defense by using Moon Jung-won instead of Nicolova, was effective. Tanacha appeared to make a turnaround by tying the game 22-22 with two serve aces. However, Hyundai Engineering & Construction's solver Moma won the last two points and gave the team a two-set victory.

Once the momentum was broken, it was not easy to revive. On this day, Lee Young-joo took over for Hyundai Engineering & Construction as Kim Yeon-gyeon, the main libero, was absent. The receiving shook greatly and gave up direct kills and serve aces to the opponent. The gap that started 3-9 widened, and even Moma was silent, giving up three sets.

The fourth set was also not easy. He led 3-0 and was blocked by the Korea Expressway Corporation one after another, allowing a 4-5 turnaround. However, Lee Da-hyun's serve ace and opponent's mistakes were added, turning it over 10-7, followed by Moma's third consecutive score, widening the gap to 14-8.

The chase of the Korea Expressway Corporation led by Bae Yu-na continued, but Lee Da-hyun hit another serve ace to change the atmosphere, and Moma cut off the opponent's flow at every crisis to wrap up the game.
