Yoon Jung-hwan, the new Incheon coach, began his promotion in earnest, starting with a meeting schedule with Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, the owner of the team.
Coach Yoon, who took the helm of Incheon on the 22nd, visited Incheon City Hall on the 23rd with an Incheon muffler and held a meeting with Mayor and owner Yoo.
On his personal SNS account, Yoo said, `I met manager Yoon today and strengthened my commitment to a new leap forward for Incheon. Coach Yoon led Gangwon to the runner-up in the K League 1 in the 2024 season and introduced it as an outstanding leader who won the 'Coach of the Year' award.
"Incheon had difficulty being demoted to the K League 2 this year, but I am determined to overcome this ordeal and use it as a blessing in disguise," owner Yoo said. "We will push for the '1-2-3 Project' aimed at returning to the first division within a year, entering the top split within two years, and advancing to the Asian Champions League within three years." Yoon said, "It is the best choice to achieve this goal, and through leadership and experience, we will bring out Incheon's re-exploitation."
Finally "I will also spare no support for the success of Incheon as the owner of the team. I will write a new history with the fans. Let's put Incheon on alert once again with all our power."

In a press release for Yoon's appointment, Incheon said, `Yoon's game model is space, location, and change. He is a resourceful man who uses flexible tactics to suit the situation in modern soccer with many variables. At the same time, he introduced a leader who is well-received by fans for aiming an aggressive defense based on forward pressure."
Yoon said, `I will definitely achieve promotion to the first division of Incheon with passionate citizens and fans. Incheon has endless potential. I will motivate the team and put on a competitive game model to win the game", he expressed his feelings about the appointment.
Yoon, who had a reputation as Korea's representative playmaker during his active career, led him to the first division promotion from Japan's Sagandos to the second place in the J2 League in 2011, his first year as a leader. Next season, he will run for promotion for the second time in 14 years throughout his leadership career.
Yoon later led Ulsan from 2015 to 2016, Cerezo Osaka from 2017 to 2018, Muang Tong United in 2019, and Jeff United from 2020 to 2022. He was in charge of Gangwon from June 2023 to December this year. In 2017, he won the J-League Cup and the Japanese King's Cup at the same time in Cerezo and was selected as Japan's coach of the year. Yoon, who won the K-League Coach of the Year award last season for Gangwon, became the first Korean leader to dominate the Japanese and Korean stages.
The new coach Yoon will convene the team on the 26th to begin preparing for the season in earnest. Incheon, which was relegated to the bottom of the K-League last season, will leave for winter training in Chiang Mai, Thailand on January 2 next year.
